Novena to St Joseph

Today we start to pray our nine day novena to St Joseph in preparation for his feast day on March 19th. Since it is not possible for you to come in and join with us, we invite you dear friends and benefactors to join with us daily, wherever you are in reciting the prayer of our Holy Father Pope Francis to St Joseph for this year “ The year dedicated to St Joseph.”

Our foundress St Jeanne Jugan was deeply devoted to St Joseph to take care of all her needs. Just as the provider and protector of the holy family, she looked to him to provide for the Little Sisters.

 

Indeed their lives were quite similar, both watching over God’s most precious gifts. St Joseph was entrusted to care for God’s beloved Son and St Jeanne was entrusted to care for God’s beloved elderly.

 

There are countless stories of how St Joseph answered St Jeanne’s requests for help, sometimes at the last minute but always on time.

 

We confide to him especially our need of vocations to the Congregation and the successful completion of the building works here at St Joseph’s Home.
