   High Society Afternoon Tea

There’s something very gracious about attending an afternoon Tea party, especially when the tables are set with delicate china cups, saucers, plates and the room delicately dressed in everything pink pearl. I would describe it as a serene afternoon at St Joseph’s Nursing Home Waterford and all of the residents were elegantly dressed, with a stylish and sophisticated look that really added to the afternoon. In the weeks leading up to it the residents worked hard making flowers with pink serviettes.  Also, each resident was given a little pill box hat on arrival which were especially made by our activities co-ordinator for the occasion, and they certainly were a talking point at the table, along with the pink trees aligning the well-dressed long table, with pink bows neatly tied at the back of each chair.

Amazing delicate pastries, scones, sandwiches were set on each place setting, along with individual jam & cream pots which were kindly prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff who added wonderful detail to each serving, Our Chocolate fountain & strawberries were also a crowd pleaser.

There was a gentle click of teaspoons along with much chit-chat and laughter from all present from start to finish and I could not have wished for anything more from this wonderful afternoon tea party to celebrate Nursing Homes Day, May 2024
