What Our Residents Say
I was really worried about how I was going to cope with Mam’s loss. I am convinced that the care she was receiving from you all to the moment of her death, the absolutely beautiful farewell you gave her from the gates of the Little Sisters, the utter simplicity and peacefulness of her funeral Mass and burial, all combined to bring a real and powerful presence of God to all the family. We are truly grateful and deeply appreciate how fortunate we are to have experienced mam’s death as we have done and genuinely thank God and you for that.
From Paula & Family
Thank you all so much for making the experience of Mam’s dying one that was and still is profoundly spiritual, rich and loving – we will always be so grateful for the beautiful departure from The Little Sisters. You and all your colleagues are now and always will be in our thoughts and prayers. I look forward to maintaining contact with you all and contributing in some way to your work. I so admire all your ways.
From Terence
My sincere thanks to you for your wonderful care of Maura R.I.P. since she joined you on 29th July last. I was overwhelmed by the lovely atmosphere and the warm welcome you gave us all when we arrived. The team in Fatima were excellent in their care of Maura and so gracious to her family especially in her last days. It was an absolute privilege that we could celebrate her funeral in your beautiful chapel. It meant so much to us as her family.
From Elizabeth
I would like to thank you all so much for the loving care and kindness Agnes received while she was in your care. I appreciate that you found the time to visit Agnes in the hospital and that she was able to repose in your nursing home on Monday night. It was so lovely on Tuesday morning that you and all the staff were able to accompany Agnes and her family on her final journey to the gate.
From Marie
There are a lot of “thank-yous” that must be recorded. The care and attention provided by the sisters and staff of St. Joseph’s Home were truly remarkable. Their mission statement reads,
“As Little Sisters of the Poor we welcome the elderly of all nationalities and beliefs. We uphold the sacredness of human life in all its stages, believing in the total care of the elderly and we have it at heart to respond to their desires and aspirations”
From my family’s experience these are not just words, as the support provided by the sisters and staff was really inspirational. Thank you so much.
To Mother Roseline
I so appreciated all of you, Sisters, Nurses, Carers, Orderlies, Reception staff and everyone else for your amazing levels of care, respect, consideration, attention, and rehabilitation and love for Mam that gave her a wonderful new lease of life and sense of freedom and without the walker. It gave us such joy and relief to know that she really started enjoying her new lifestyle in your care. You made her so happy there. Thank you also for the kindness and emotional support you gave to us her family especially in her final days.
