Keeping Us in Suspense!

One of Bristol’s most famous land-marks is the Clifton Suspension Bridge, designed (as all quiz aficionados will know) by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1864. SAM_5822Bristol bridgeA quick bit of mental arithmetic will show us that the Bridge, is therefore, celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year – a fact that has not escaped the notice of our friends at St. Joseph’s Home in Cotham, Bristol. Lesleyann has been key in encouraging the residents and Sisters to celebrate in style with an ambitious project to guild their own model of the famous bridge. Most of our Homes have very gifted and hugely able maintenance staff who can turn their hands to just about anything and Martin and Phil at St. Joseph’s are certainly no exception! The residents, Sisters, staff and volunteers have thrown themselves into the project wholeheartedly – and the results are pretty impressive!

As Lesleyann says “The days have been filled with witty and amusing comments and laughter has really filled our Home.” The actual anniversary is in December, when the partying really starts in Bristol.
