Exploring a New Hobby is the name for the restoration of our gifted Victorian Dolls.
We immediately saw this as a great opportunity to start up a workshop & restore the dolls back to their full glory, and this involved the washing of the dresses, dolls & combing out the hair & adding ribbons & buttons where it was needed. This event helps improve a residents feeling of involvement and it is also an unusual activity. To watch the residents, roll up their sleeves and put them in the basins of water provided, was such a joy and then to hang them on my small clothes line, the laughing from the resident’s present was priceless. Many others took great joy in combing out the beautiful hair on the dolls while choosing ribbons to match etc.
