The transition year from Abbey Community College, Ferrybank have been coming for years to St. Joseph’s Home as part of their curriculum, accompanied by their teacher. When we were in outbreak of Covid 19 sadly they could not join us but now that we are back to normal again these visits are held in the concert hall every 2nd week. The students are grouped on the stage and residents are comfortably seated in the Hall. From the point of view of the students they have the opportunity of public speaking on a stage. Each one introduces themselves and if they have been on a work placement they describe to the residents where they have been and what it was like for them.
