Priory School Harvest Mass
On Friday 22nd September 2017, two Little Sisters from our Home in Birmingham were invited to join pupils and staff at the annual Harvest Mass celebrated in the beautiful school chapel. One of the many things that makes Priory School such a special place to grow and learn is the values that they instill in their pupils. Cornelia Connelly founded the Holy Child foundation of schools to provide an educational experience which is intellectually challenging and creative and helps to develop a love of learning and academic excellence. Priory School continues to follow this ethos today.
One of their aims is to encourage children to be charitable and selfless. Pupils and their families donated a whole range of goods to be given to local people in need. Donations included tea, coffee, tins, jars, herbs and spices, pasta and rice, little treats such as chocolate and biscuits and lots of fresh produce. Pupils were encouraged to think about the difference they are making to somebody else as they decided what they would like to donate. These small acts of kindness can have such a tremendous impact.
After Mass the Sisters spoke about their work of caring for the elderly and met the pupils and staff.
