Helping hands in Newcastle

During the recent heavy snowfall some ‘Knights in Shining Armour’, or at least high viz jackets and hard hats, from Balfour Beatty (North) came to dig us out. They cleared the driveway and the roadway to the back of the house with the aid of a JCB digger and lots of rock salt, giving their time (and rock salt) free.  The only payment they asked was a photograph!  Another example of comradeship that seems to have swept the country over the past week.
